About us
Grangewood Lodge
A Family business
Grangewood Lodge was opened as a residential home in 1988 by Mr J F Fisher with his daughter Amelia Newstead taking over as provider in July 2020, ensuring Grangewood remains a family run business that is not part of a group or chain. It remains the result of a skilful conversion of a Georgian period country Lodge and adjoining coach house and stables. Further extensions have been added to now provide, in total, 36 rooms.
The home is set in the National Forest and quiet countryside of South Derbyshire close to the villages of Overseal, Netherseal and Lullington and stands within 5 acres of it’s own grounds and mature gardens.
Special features include a Victorian walled garden, a patio and wildlife pond, summer house and bluebell wood.
The Residence
The home presents a picture of an old country manor and leisured life style offering care, comfort and security to all who live there.
Furnished and well equipped in a style that reflects the period atmosphere of the main property – with continually upgraded decoration and facilities, this frequently recommended home offers a relaxed, friendly and homely environment, comfortable and spacious accommodation. And most important of all, good quality care from experienced and professionally trained staff.
What we do
Care & Support
At Grangewood Lodge we aim to provide a happy, relaxed and friendly environment, where service user’s rights, privacy and dignity are respected. Where their needs are met and their wishes, views, hopes and expectations acknowledged, offering sanctuary from anxiety and stress in a unique setting.
Individual opinions and views with regard to the service are listened to and residents are encouraged and enabled to lead a full and interesting life, in an atmosphere and surroundings that feel like home.
We recognise the necessity for residents to feel completely relaxed and at home and accordingly, residents are encouraged to bring their own furniture and personal possessions to make their room as familiar and homely as possible, if they wish.
All staff receive extensive training in respect of end-of-life care and we are a sensitive and compassionate team who value the importance of this period of residency. We work with families to provide caring, dignified support which at all times is in line with a person’s wishes.
